Quality Assurance and/or accreditation agencies develop criteria and standards for the institutes and programs with the purpose of assure the provision of quality education. Universities and their programs prepare reports based on the requirements of the accreditation agency and submit the same for review to the accreditation body. One of the major requirements of accreditation agencies is the establishment of an Internal Quality Assurance System.
Quality Assurance professionals involved at the institutional level often face difficulty in evaluating the internal quality assurance mechanism due to the lack of a structured system of evaluation. Baldrige Education Criteria for Performance Excellence is a renowned system that provides an opportunity to educational institutions to meet their criteria for winning Quality Award. Baldrige has got a very structured system of scoring the performance of institutes based on their criteria. When the institutions submit a report based on their Education Criteria, the report is scored on Baldrige Scoring System.
This workshop would introduce Baldrige Scoring System for a general understanding and would involve participants in reviewing evaluation reports using this Scoring System. It will also highlight how this scoring system may be used in reviewing and producing tangible results in any given context. Since Baldrige Scoring System is very comprehensive and requires extensive practice, the workshop would equip them with the basic understanding and application at their own institutions.
