Jordan is located in the heart of the Middle East to the north-west of Saudi Arabia, south of Syria, southwest of Iraq, and to the east of the Palestinian Authority. Climate and geography

Jordan has a combination between the Mediterranean climate and desert climate, with Mediterranean prevailing in the northern and western parts of the country, whereas the desert climate prevails in the vast majority of the country. On the whole, the country has warm, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The annual temperature ranges from 12-15 degrees Celsius (54-77 Fahrenheit), and up to 40-46 degrees (105-115 F)  in the summertime in the desert areas. Rainfall averages vary from   50 mm (1.97 inches) annually in the desert to 800 mm (31.5 inches) in the northern highlands  on which snow might even fall at some times of the year.. Jordan enjoys a variety of geographical features starting from the Jordan Rift Valley in the west ending at the desert plateau  of the East, with a range of small hills running the length of the country in between.

  • Highest Point: Jebel Rum, 1734 meters (5689 feet).

Jordan is a country relatively small in area and population, when compared with other major countries surrounding it. ,Amman, Jordan’s capital represents the heart of Jordan, followed by Alzarka Irbid, Karak, Salt and other cities.   • Queen Alia International Airport
    The airport lies (35) kilometers south of Amman city . The Airport is designed to receive the largest types of aircrafts. Besides the Royal Jordanian Airlines, and more than 20 airlines visit the airport including a variety of European, Asian and American airlines.   The airport can be reached by car and takes a maximum of 35 minutes to reach from Amman.  Generally, Queen Alia International Airport is the main airport in Jordan.
  • There is also Amman’s Civil Airport at Marka and King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba.
    This airpot is considered as the gate to Jordan in Aqaba region, and is also a vital airport as it has a large variety of national and international airlines. The journey from Amman to Aqaba and vice-versa takes about 45 minutes.
