Zarqa University hosts the General Secretariat of the Conference on Quality Assurance in Higher Education since 2010, and provides an appropriate headquarters for it, and the Secretariat has an independent financial and administrative personality.
The responsibilities and powers of the secretariat are defined by the following:
1. Sponsoring the conference to ensure its permanence and sustainability, and seeking to expand its umbrella by communicating with Arab universities, research centers, and quality assurance institutions in the Arab countries and their bodies.
2. Addressing member universities about holding the next conference, receiving requests to host it, and recommending to the organizing committee to determine the university hosting the next conference.
3. Coordination of all administrative and scientific procedures of the conference with the organizing committee at the host university in order to work for the success of the conference.
4. Managing and updating the conference website on the Internet, in coordination with the Organizing and Preparatory Committees.
5. Update the list of the scientific committee to arbitrate research every year, within the general foundations laid by the organizing committee.
6. Issuing the necessary publications to serve the goals of the conference.
7. Supervising the scientific aspect of the conference, by supervising the arbitration of scientific research, in coordination with the conference hosting university by using the electronic system for the management of refereed scientific conferences (OpenConf) IACQA OPEN Conference.
8. Coordination with federations and institutions related to Arab universities, research centers, and quality assurance institutions, especially the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils, the Association of Private Higher Education Institutions in the Arab World, and the Associations of the Corresponding Scientific Colleges emanating from the Federation of Arab Universities and Accreditation Bodies in Arab Countries, and the Arab Network for Quality Assurance.
9. Preparing the administrative and financial report annually.
Financial Resources of the General Secretariat:
The Secretariat's resources consist of:
1. The support provided by the hosting university which hosts the headquarters of the General Secretariat.
2. The support provided by the Federation of Arab Universities.
3. Support provided by other supportive parties.
4. Grants and gifts accepted by the General Secretariat in a manner that does not conflict with its objectives.
5. Any other financial resources that do not conflict with the regulations of the Federation of Arab Universities.
